The Executive Office of Energy and Environmental Affairs (EEA) protects, conserves, and restores the natural resources of the Commonwealth. To fulfill this mission, Rebecca Tepper, Secretary of EEA, is making available funding for the FY 24 Parkland Acquisitions and Renovations for Communities (PARC) Grant Program. This program is intended to provide funding to cities and towns to acquire and develop land for park and outdoor recreation purposes.
The PARC Grant Program is a component of the Healey’s Administration’s goal of providing recreational opportunities for all Massachusetts residents. It is a reimbursement program.
The PARC Grant Program also supports Executive Order 569, which calls for state government to adapt to climate change and build a more resilient Commonwealth, by including resiliency criteria in its scoring and incorporating priority projects from EEA’s Municipal Vulnerability Preparedness program.
