The goal of the Agricultural Composting Improvement Program is to help agricultural composters improve the overall management of their agricultural composting operations, and to facilitate compost use on agricultural units.
Funds can be used for the purchase of equipment or materials to improve composting management practices, and address impacts on the environment including air and water resources. Examples of eligible projects include the purchase of equipment to facilitate the composting process (such as material mixers, windrow turners, etc.); equipment to facilitate compost usage (such as screeners and spreaders), construction of a compost pad, retention basins, leachate management, or new compost technologies, such as in-vessel or static aerated systems.
