Green Communities Competitive Grant Program

Eligible Green Communities may submit a grant application to fund all, or a portion of the costs of, constructing and implementing energy efficiency and renewable or alternative energy activities, including but not limited to:

  • Energy conservation measures and projects
  • Hybrid, electric or plug-in hybrid-electric vehicles
  • Electric vehicle charging stations
  • Vehicular efficiency measures, such as idle reduction equipment and after-market battery electric retrofit kits
  • Financing the siting and construction of renewable and alternative energy projects on municipally owned property
  • Building Operator Certification training for staff members
  • Energy storage to address peak demand
  • Block 1 competitive grant applications will be accepted until 5 PM May 5, 2023
  • Block 2 competitive grant applications will be accepted October 16 through 5 PM October 20, 2023
